How it works.
Every time you learn something new, your brain forms a pathway. You try, you fail, you adjust, and eventually it clicks. The feedback you get along the way is what makes the learning stick.
Neurofeedback works the same way. Sensors read your brain's electrical activity in real time. When your brain moves toward a healthier pattern, it gets a reward. When it drifts, the reward stops. Over time, the brain learns to hold the better pattern on its own — not because a medication is telling it to, but because it practiced until it knew the way.
We use Myndlift — a clinician-guided platform that pairs clinical oversight with the flexibility of training at home. Your protocols are designed from a qEEG brain map and adjusted as you progress. You train by streaming shows, playing games, or listening to music.

ADHD & Attention
Attention isn't just about focus — it's the foundation for how we take in information, stay on task, and regulate reactions. For people with ADHD, there's too much slow-wave activity and not enough fast-wave activity, which makes filtering distractions genuinely hard.
Neurofeedback rewards the brain when it produces more beta and withdraws the reward when theta takes over. Over time, the brain sustains that pattern on its own. Better focus, less impulsivity, and improved follow-through — without having to try harder all the time.
Anxiety
Anxiety isn't just a thought pattern — it's physical. Racing heart, chest tension, the low-level sense that something is wrong even when nothing is. In the brain, it often shows up as too much fast-wave activity in the right hemisphere.
Neurofeedback trains the brain to produce more slow-wave alpha frequencies — teaching it how to downshift. Less alarm. More ground.
Depression
The inability to get out of bed, the loss of interest, the exhaustion that doesn't lift — those aren't signs of weakness. They're what too many slow brainwaves feel like from the inside. Depression often involves an imbalance between left and right frontal lobe activity.
For reactive depression — where symptoms stem from an unmanaged condition like ADHD — treating the root issue often reduces the depression along with it.
PTSD & Trauma
Trauma lives in the body and the brain. The amygdala is chronically overactivated — doing what it evolved to do, but unable to distinguish a real threat from a memory of one.
Neurofeedback targets that overactivation, gradually reducing reactivity. It lowers the neurological volume so trauma-focused therapy can actually work.
Autism & AuDHD
The goal is never to make someone less autistic. It's to reduce the things that cause suffering: sensory overload, emotional dysregulation, rigid thought patterns that become traps, and the exhaustion of a nervous system at full capacity all the time.
For AuDHD, protocols are individualized. We work collaboratively, move slowly, and check in regularly. This is brain training, not normalization.
Sleep & Insomnia
Sleep problems are often downstream of an overactivated nervous system. You're tired, but your brain is still running. That's a regulation problem, not a willpower problem.
Many clients report improved sleep within the first several weeks — often before they notice other changes.

OCD
OCD involves a loop: intrusive thought triggers anxiety, which drives a compulsion, which temporarily relieves anxiety and reinforces the loop. Neurofeedback targets the underlying neural pattern, not the content of obsessions.
This doesn't replace ERP therapy. But for clients whose anxiety is too high to engage with ERP effectively, neurofeedback can lower the neurological floor enough to make therapy workable.
Brain Injury & Cognitive Decline
After a brain injury, electrical patterns are disrupted. Regions that used to communicate efficiently no longer do. Brain fog, memory gaps, fatigue, emotional volatility.
Neurofeedback identifies where dysregulation is occurring and trains the brain back toward more efficient patterns. The brain retains neuroplasticity well into adulthood.

Initial Assessment & Report
Everyone starts here. This two-hour session is where we build your qEEG brain map and talk through your history together. You'll leave with a written report and a protocol built from your own data, not a template pulled off a shelf.

At-Home Training
Once your assessment is done and your protocol is built, this is where the actual training happens. You use Myndlift at home, as often as fits your life. Your protocol is adjusted remotely as your brain changes, and someone is watching your progress the whole time. This step only starts after your assessment — it's not a separate entry point, since your protocol has to come from somewhere.

In-Person Check-In Sessions
Most training happens on its own at home. This is a 45-minute in-person session where we sit down together, reassess how things are going, and look at what your progress actually shows. It's part therapeutic check-in, part course correction. These typically land mid-program and at the end of your training window.

Why at-home training works
Traditional in-office neurofeedback in the Bay Area runs $100 to $300 per session, and most people need 30 to 40 sessions to see real change. That adds up fast, before you even factor in the time it takes to get to an office that often. Training at home starts at $175 a month with unlimited use. You train as much as your brain actually needs, not as much as your schedule allows. Consistency is what makes the change stick, and at-home access is what makes consistency possible.
